Mutiny (1952) - Star of the month... Angela Lansbury

'Mutiny' is a 1952 directed by Edward Dmytryk and starring Mark Stevens, Angela Lansbury and Patric Knowles, Gene Evans and Rhys Williams.

The film begins early during the war of 1812, American Captain James Marshall (played by Stevens) is commissioned to run a British blockade and fetch an unofficial war loan from France. Marshall recruits former Navy captain Ben Waldridge (played by Knowles) as his first mate. Once the ship's crew learn they'll be gold on board, they plot to mutiny the ship. Meanwhile, Waldridge's gold-digging former sweetheart, Leslie (played by Lansbury) arrives and has her eye on the gold.

  • Look out for Denver Pyle who appears uncredited as a Mutineer

Closing remarks

Not much I can say about this film. Very average adventure on the high seas with Lansbury as gold digging seductress. Nothing special and thankfully only runs for 76 minutes.
